Perform 'Dhanurasana' to control prostate disorders


Prostate disorders are very common among men above 50 years of age. These disorders include enlargement of prostate gland, inflamed gland, leaking or dribbling urine etc. The Yoga way of life recommends practicing 'Dhanurasana' to control such disorders.
How to perform the 'asana'
- Lie on a mat, keeping the abdomen touching the floor
- Bend legs at the knees
- Raise the chest and head
- Firmly catch hold of the legs at the ankles with respective hands
- Stretch ankles upwards while inhaling, try to pull-up the thighs off the floor, make sure that only abdomen and pelvis remain in contact with the floor making spine like a bow
- Retain the pose for 5 to 10 second
- Exhale and release the grip on the ankles and slowly return to the starting position
Benefits of the 'asana'
- The asana provides massage to the prostate gland and kidneys. It activates the gland and stimulates pancreatic action in diabetics also.
- Besides accelerating blood supply to the sex organs, it gives proper exercise to the shoulders, neck, back, ankles and legs.
