A thorough research was done during the design process, which is noticeable from the huge number of sketches and renderings. The basic idea was to conceptualize a car with a timeless design, combining sleek lines with dynamic proportions and sculptural surfaces. Slavche Tanevski, design student at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich, Germany, designed the car for his Bachelor Thesis. He says…
I intended to do a car with a timeless beauty [...]. So I asked myself, what body, which products have this quality? – Musical instruments. The grand piano for example, when it’s closed it looks elegant, classy, noble. [...] When open, one sees the keyboard, the strings etc. which put the product to another level.For the exterior of the luxury car, the designer finds the inspiration in the flying hair. The Aria Concept’s character is defined by the inviting body surfaces, which are inspired by the female body, violin and the Coke bottle. Meticulous attention has been paid to every single detail. The Aria comes with wheel hub electric engines.
Modularity is the highlight of the interior. Instead of being welded to the exterior, the Aria’s interior is wired to the copper skeleton. The interior is quite spacious and the cradle-inspired system enriches the passengers with a flying sensation. The choice of materials is outstanding. The use of copper and aluminum speaks of strength, leather and piano black surfaces symbolize class and the wooden floor looks a lot like a yacht deck.
The Aria Concept aims to give us a glimpse of what a Mercedes-Benz luxury car could look like in the year 2030.
